5 Most Asked Questions in Interview in 2024

In this competitive era, it becomes very tough to crack interview for the dream job. However if someone prepares the most tough questions’ answers strategically before hand, he/she can easily get his/her dream job.

Here, I am sharing 5 most difficult questions and their answers which are asked by an interviewer.

  • 1.Tell me something about yourself or Introduce yourself.
  • 2.Why do you want to join this company?
  • 3.What is your strength?
  • 4.What is your weakness?
  • 5.What salary do you expect?
  • 1.Tell me something about yourself or Introduce yourself.

This is the most common question in any kind of interview. Also, this is the first question that interviewer asks.

Why does interviewer ask this question in the first place and why does entire performance of an interviewee depends on this question’s answer?

Well, there can be multiple answers of these questions. Interviewer asks first this question about introduction of interviewee to ‘Break the ice’.

Also, this question is asked to understand psychology of interviewee that how structured and organised his/her thinking process is.

Therefore, if interviewee decides to perform well in answering this question, he/she can increase the possibility of passing interview by 50%.

Below is a good example of ‘Introduction’ that can be used by anyone in interview.

”My name is (your name), and I live at (Your Locality) in (Your City). I have completed my 12th/Graduation in (Your Stream/Degree) from (Your University).

Though I am a fresher, I have good knowledge of computer and have participated in many activities during my schooling/Graduation that helped me learn ‘Teamwork’, ‘Hard work’, and ‘Communication skills’. I am sure that all these skills will help me contribute in this company and its objective.

If I talk about my likes and dislikes, I like to watch movies and play outdoor games and I do not like to spend my time purposelessly. That is all about me. If there is anything else specific you want to ask so you can.”

  • 2.Why do you want to join this company?

In order to check loyalty and seriousness of an interviewee, the interviewer asks you about your reason to apply job in this only company.

You should be smart enough to answer this question because many companies are working in the same field.

So below mentioned statements could be justified when you answer this question in interview.

”Sir/Ma’am, before coming for the interview, I was reading through your website and I read a lot of interesting insights about your company that motivated me to be a part of only your company over others.

Your company won many awards, and your employees’ reviews are very good on website that reflects the good work culture here and employees growth and I always wanted to work in such company where I can grow professionally with the growth of company. So I think this dream can come true here.”

  • 3.What is your strength?

Interviewer tends to ask this question to know your most specifically soft skill so that you can be a good part and resource of the team.

One should always keep past experience while telling his/her strength so that he/she may take reference of that experience where he/she used this particular strength practically in problem solving.

In my words, below stated answer can be well suited response to this question.

I recognise many strength in me like- Hard working, Punctual, Patience. All these are reflected in my work.

For Fresher-

”When I was taking my board exams in class 12th, I had to wake up early in the morning for study this is the reflection of my hard work. I used to do that despite being so tired by household chores and sleep. I did not break my punctuality, patience and kept doing that hard work to pass the exam.”

For Experienced-

  • This could be personal one.
  • This could be common one as follows:

”When I was Preparing for my interview, this took a lot of my hard work in research work abot copany and its profile, also getting ready with questions’ answers and that I should present myself in professional manner.

I reached here on time that reflects my punctuality and I was patiently waiting for my turn and also waited for this day to be here sir. That’s all combination of my strength, hard work, punctuality and patience sir.”

  • 4.What is your weakness?

Do you wonder that why is this question asked? and how is an interviewee supposed to respond when this question is asked in an interview?

The interviewer is asking this question to assess your presence of mind and situation handling skills. As you might be dealing with people or customers in any form so at that time you should know how to mould situation in company’s favour and in customer’s benefits.

So when you respond this question, always tell your weakness in such a way that it must sound like your strength ultimately.

Below is the example that can satisfy above statement:

”Sir/Ma’am, When I take any task, I want to finish it my own and when it is done, still I want to keep working on this. It takes a lot of my time to make it more accurate.

Over time, I realized importance of ‘Teamwork’ and doing a work in team always takes less efforts and time so I adopted this new change in me and I am working on it to improve my weakness.”

  • 5.What salary do you expect?

Here comes the last stage when you are almost selected and now you have to literally negotiate with salary.

If you are a fresher, your focus should be on learning and good exposure of company and its work not on salary, however you should also see that offered salary meets all your needs and expenses.

So what should be your response to it?

  • If you are a fresher:

”Sir/Ma’am, Since I am a fresher and I am mostly aligned to learning here however I expect a figure of salary that fulfils my needs and other necessary expenses like conveyance, study etc.”

  • If you are experienced:

”Make your work experience of several years as base for high pay and make him count how that experience can benefit the company. Also say that your current pay is something and you expect more than that amount.”

So these are some questions which are mostly asked in interview. I hope this blog on interview will help you get your dream job easily. Get the most out of it and mention your take away in the comment box.
